Grouse Grinding & Playlist!

This girl makes a wicked breakfast!

Grouse mountain is a popular location for both tourists and locals alike. We even met some visitors from Cali on the gondola back to the base of the mountain!

The Grind, just as beautiful but somewhat less visited is "a 2.9-kilometre trail (which is really not a trail at all but billions of stairs) up the face of Grouse Mountain, commonly referred to as “Mother Nature’s Stairmaster.” as quoted by the mountain's website.

My best friend and I decided to take on mother nature's wonderful and exhausting workout, the equivalent of 2, 830 steps on I'm sure the highest difficulty setting!! Even though It's crazy hard there's something so perfect about breathing in the clean air and looking out at the forest God's hand created for our exploration! I find myself praying for energy at some points, but in all reality I praise Him knowing I can push myself and the power and strength that's stored deep down in each of us. His work is breath-taking!
Post-Grind Pose :)

Last year around mid September we did the grind at around 1 hour and 30 minutes.

Today's time was 1 hour and 5 minutes for Emma and 1 hour 8 minutes for me.

Phew!

Here's the playlist that kept me pushing: (and started a mid-hill dance party that made a few others smile)
- Titanium (Extended), David Guetta f. Cia
- Defying Gravity, Glee Cast Version (My anthem really)
- Touch the Sky, Julie Fowlis (From Disney's Brave, best adventure song!)
- The Mother we Share, Chvrches
- Benny & Joon, William Beckett
- Happy, Pharrell
- LA Story, Sammy Adams f. Mike Posner
- Blurred Lines, Robin Thicke f. T.I. & Pharrell (I'm not usually a Pharrell fan)
- Over the Love, Florence and The Machine
- Global Concepts (Clean), Robert Delong
- Recover (Cid Rim Remix), Churches
- Everything, Lifehouse (never get tired of this one, one of my fav Jesus songs)
- Lover of The Light, Mumford & Sons (Mumford's music could be medicine <3)
- Boy, Nina Nesbitt
- Bombshell Blonde, Owl City (I had to!)
- Come and Get it, Selena Gomez
- Slow Down, Selena Gomez
- Make War, Tedashii (I made warrrrrrr on the Grouse Grind, only funny if you know the song)
- Holding on to you, Twenty One Pilots
- Summer Vibe, Walk Off the Earth
- Going to California, Wave (Beacause I am in two days)
- Come Away to the Water, Maroon 5
- Eyes Open, Taylor Swift

When you're done the painful task of the grind there's a relaxing gondola back down to the bottom. Today was a fun ride as it was so foggy you couldn't see anything! You couldn't take in the amazing view but it was slightly scary and thrilling ;)

We even met this cutie at the bottom!
Was a great day!

P.S. Here's a new smoothie recipe I came up with! Delicious!

- 1 pear
- 1 kiwi
- half a frozen banana
- 1 cup frozen strawberries
- 1 tbs of VEGA 1 vanilla protein powder
- 3 mint leaves
- 1 cup coconut water

Summer Stuff!

It's summer time...wooooo!

And only eleven days till I leave for Disney, not sure how I feel at this moment about that.
Ah, breathe!

I wanted to do a post on all the questions people have been asking me lately about my beauty routine and smoothie habits in a summer style, so today it is all about beauty, smoothies, and my fav summer products!

Disclaimer: All of the opinions and products featured are by my choice, none of the companies featured sponsored this post. I'm also not claiming to be a beauty expert, this is just what works for me.

That being said, my beauty routine:

Those who look to him are radiant;
their faces are never covered with shame.
Psalm 34:5

Products: (From top left to bottom right) NYX Stay Matte not Flat face powder, Jergens Natural Glow for face, Garnier Anti-Dark Circle eye roller in light, Revlon Lash Potion waterproof mascara, Covergirl Exact Eyelights in blue, Maybelline Fit me concealer, Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser.

1. Wash your face every night!! I use Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser all over my face followed by a light scrub with a damp wash cloth. Then I apply Jergens Natural Glow moisturizer for face. These two products combined are the best combo I've found for my skin, and like everyone else I've tried nearly everything. So keep trying different things and you'll find what works!

2. Make-up. I re-wash my face in the morning and apply a smaller amount of the face lotion just to keep my skin from drying out. Then I lightly dust my skin with baby powder to prepare it for make-up, I don't like primers. I use Garnier Anti-dark eye roller under my eyes, cover blemishes with Maybelline Fit me Concealer and set everything with NYX stay matte not flat face powder. For mascara I'm currently using Covergirl's Exact Eyelights for blue eyes, but my favorite mascaras are Lash Perfection by Covergirl and Colossal Cat Eyes by Maybelline. I tried the Lash Potion by Revlon and don't love it, however if you're needing good waterproof mascara it withstands even laps in a chlorine filled pool with no goggles so I keep it for rainy or wet days.
Lastly i dust my cheeks with blush, yes even in the summer. I just love a good rosy cheek, even when summer usually calls for bronzer.
My go-to blush Is Dame by MAC, but for summer sometimes it's fun to pop a little coral splash in. I also love peaches and melba by MAC for summer looks. I choose MAC blush because I find the pigment best, it's worth the price if you're a blush lover!

3. Hydrate. Water, water, water! It is the ultimate beauty tool. Drink lots, it helps you loose weight, keeps your skin beautiful, helps your hair grow, keeps your body cool and feeling great, what other reasons do you need?! Make sure if you're in the sun to drink a little extra and if you're drinking alcohol or caffeine match double water to the size of your drink.

4. Sunscreen! I know everyone wants to jump start to that perfect tan, but add some sunscreen and some patience and when you're older your lack of wrinkles and skin cancer will be so worth it!

My Fav sunscreens are: Bath and Body Works, true blue spa sunscreen mist (smells like a tropical summer breeze) and Coola Sport SPF 30 spray sunscreen, it comes in Pina Colada or Citrus Mimosa so you win either way!

Favourite summer products:

I've been loving these products for summer! (From left to right)

1. Bath and Body Works Bronze Fizz, this stuff is super fun to apply! It really is like a fizzy foam and when you smooth it into your skin it has a beautiful bronze sparkle! Note, it's extremely sparkly so i use it for special events not everyday.

2. True Blue Spa SPF 30 Sunscreen, previously mentioned. Sunscreen gotta love it!

3. Hothed Violet whipped hair foam, for blondies this is a must! It's a moisturizing hair foam that combats summer discolouration (ew, yellow hair!) and leaves your hair so soft and smelling delicious! Make sure you don't use too much or else your hair dries a little goopy. Just a small palmful on each side.

4. Marc Jacobs Daisy Sunshine, anyone who knows me knows Marc Jacobs is my scent obsession, especially anything Daisy! This is his new summer version of Daisy and it smells amazing! Thanks mummy and daddy!! <3

5. Bath and Body Works Beach waves in Pure Paradise, I like to give my hair a break in the summer so all I really do is braid wet hair at night in one braid and spray some of this on in the morning, voila summer waves!

6. Bath and Body Works Pure Paradise body wash, coconut, starfruit and tropical flowers, enough said. Delicious!

I love these two water bottles, neither are plastic so no worries of toxins leaking in. The one on the left, as you can see is from Starbucks, it's made of tin and keeps drinks cool for quite awhile. The right is glass covered with a plastic protector and is made by life factory. You can order it from www.lifefactory.com.

Hello all!

So at this point the majority of those following/reading my blog will be family and friends I've sent the link to...nonetheless, if this does not apply to you welcome strangers as well!

I mainly started this blog for everyone to see what my life looks like as a Disney Intern this summer/fall and life after as well, I suppose.

For the next six months my life will be consumed with more Disney, school, work, fun, stress, and growing up then I have encountered in my whole life. I only pray that coming out of this I'll be a better person then I entered, and as always more in love with and impacted by God.

I can't promise everything I post will be related to my program, as I want to post on topics that inspire me and/or catch my attention also but I can promise I will try my best to make things as interesting and entertaining as possible :)

Thank you to everyone who has supported me in this goal I've held since high school! I don't know why this was part of the plan God has for my life, but I'm excited to find out!

And a huge thank you to my parents, without your help this would not have been possible, thank you for your never ending love, care, hugs, financial and "growing up" help! I love you more than I can say!
